Rug Hooking: Fraktur or Pennsylvania Dutch – Folk Art Pattern (materials kit included in price)

Please come join Indiana Artisan Tracy Burns as she shares her love of Traditional Rug Hooking with you. You will be making a 8″x10″ tulip and heart design or a 10″x10″ tulips, heart and bird design.

Rug Hooking is like coloring except we will be using wool fabric instead of crayons!  Tracy will cover the history as well the equipment used to create a piece of Folk Art.  You will be learning the techniques to finish this project and future rugs.  We will also touch on the differences between wide cut (Primitive Style) and fine cut (Realistic Style).  Students will be guided through the basic techniques as they pull their first loops on an 8″ x 10″  or 10″ x 10″ design.  If this is not your first Rug Hooking class, please let Tracy know. She can help you adapt the pattern so you can add an advanced technique or two.

NOTE:  Materials/Supply Kit ($35) is included in the total price. The kit includes everything to finish your project and is mandatory for the class.
(Colors will vary due to the use of hand-dyed wool and some recycled materials.)
